Better Homes and Garden has been a favorite magazine of mine for a long time.  Every two years I would get a renewal request for $24 and I couldn’t refuse.  That would get me 24 issues plus their annual Cookbook.  Pretty cheap entertainment if you ask me.   

January seems to be the month to get organized and declutter and this was an idea found on the BHG’s website.  If you don’t have a large bedroom and are struggling with storage ideas, how does this look to you?

Christmas 2010

We are thankful for safe travels during our Christmas break.  We logged 2600 safe miles on the van and enjoyed 10 wonderful days with my side of the family.  We made many memories, enjoyed many laughs, strategized through many games of Rook, and ate lots of great food.  Thanks to Lisa and Terralyne for all their efforts in the cooking department.  Love you all!

Exciting news… Our latest shipment of high quality fleece sheets made in Canada has arrived.  Colors for this shipment include ivory and taupe.  Please note that the fleece sheet manufacturer is Andreanne International and the new fleece sheets in inventory are Brunswick sheets. 

The fleece sheets are 65% acrylic and 35% polyester.  Brushed to an incredible softness, these fleece sheets will make it hard to get out of bed in the morning.  Most importantly, the polyester/acrylic blend allows for moisture to be wicked away from the body which stabilizes body temperature which in turn reduces tossing and turning.

An amazing gift idea from Samaritan’s Purse!  August brings school shopping and very cheap crayons and notepads at Walmart or any other big box store.  This is when we start thinking about and buying things to put in our Christmas Shoe Box that gets sent around the world to a child in desperate need.  Samaritan’s Purse provides Emergency Relief, Community Development, and Children’s Programs to those in need around the world.

It is a wonderful thing to do with our children.  Toys, pencils, pads, candy, and hairbows are all things that are taken for granted at our house! But when the girls see pictures of other children in need at the Samaritan’s Purse website, they start to understand a little of just how much they have!

It’s inexpensive and fun.  A quick trip to the Dollar Store will get you started with a plastic shoe box, hairbows, hairbrush, toothbrush, and a few toys for under $10.  A donation of $7 (to cover shipping costs) is appreciated by the organization.
